Extended Bike Park hours, band on the Village Stage, DJs spinning in Resort Village and athlete demonstrations kick-off summer opening weekend.Park City, UT (June 3, 2014) - Canyons Resort opens the summer season on Thursday, June 12, with a fun-filled roster of activities for the whole family.  Together with adventures including hiking, Zip Tour Adventure, and putting course, Canyons has a full schedule of special events throughout the entire summer from the annual July 3rd Celebration to Saturday Summer Concert Series, to bike events such as the Enduro Cup and Go-Ride Gravity Series. To celebrate summer 2014, Canyons is hosting a special opening weekend party on Friday June 13 and Saturday June 14 with a schedule that includes athlete demos by X Games gold medalist Terry Adams, a free concert by ska funk fusion band Fishbone, and a special screening of Brandon Semenuk's Rad Company only one week after the world premiere.

"Summer is an activity-filled season at Canyons, and for the first time ever we are kicking it off with a special opening weekend of fun," said Mike Goar, Vice President and General Manager of Canyons Resort. "The entire summer season is jam-packed with activities and special events allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery of Park City. Canyons is the perfect destination to beat the heat and explore the outdoors through adventures for everyone."

Opening weekend is just the beginning of a fun-filled summer at Canyons.  Guided hiking, Zip Tour Adventure, putting course, disc golf and pedal boat rentals on Alpine Lake are just a few of the activities offered during the summer season.  Families can experience a wide variety of Canyons' summer activities on one Family Adventure Pass, which includes a gondola ticket, putting course access, fishing rod and pedal boat rental and a ride on the Epic Zip Tour.

Canyons' schedule of summer special events is what makes the resort a vibrant destination for visitors. Back again is Canyons' Saturday Summer Concert Series beginning July 5 through Labor Day Weekend.  One of the most popular celebrations of summer is the annual July 3rd celebration, complete with a free concert by Salt Lake City soul and funk band The Soulistics, special food, family activities in the Resort Village and a fireworks show to cap off the evening. 

Canyons Bike Park features terrain for everyone from first time riders to experts looking for a challenge. Explore 10 jump, flow and freeride trails at our lift-serviced bike park, accessed from the High Meadow and Short Cut chairlifts. Test out rental bikes from GT and Cannondale at Canyon Mountain Rentals in the Resort Village. Our certified instructors can help make the most of your experience in Park City, the first and only IMBA Gold-Level Ride Center. New for summer 2014 will include completion of the first downhill trail at Canyons, which will play host to the Labor Day stop of the Go-Ride Gravity Series.

Park City's favorite Farmer's Market is back every Wednesday in Canyons' Cabriolet Lot, beginning June 4 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. through mid-October.  The Farm, Canyons' premier restaurant featuring a menu of locally sourced and artisanal products, begins dinner service on June 20. Enjoy the famous Utah sun on Red Tail Grill's outdoor deck, featuring a southwestern menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  On-mountain, outdoor enthusiasts can take a break from adventures at Red Pine Café to sample a menu of favorite items from across Canyons winter dining outlets, including fresh salads from Cloud Dine and BBQ sandwiches from Tombstone Grill.  

Canyons lodging packages offer more than a comfortable place to rest when the sun goes down. Get a free breakfast with the Rise and Dine package or bigger savings on additional nights with the Savor the Summer package.
