BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Feb. 18, 2016 - Today, Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) announced that Gabrielle Lerner Keown has been named the Company's new Senior Director of Real Estate Development. In this role, she will oversee relationships with third party developers on multiple real estate parcels held by the Company with a focus on creating value at the base areas of the Company's iconic ski resorts. Her appointment is effective Monday, Feb. 15.
'Gaby's previous experience on a variety of real estate development projects and her positive influence on strategic expansion will be a tremendous asset to Vail Resorts,' said James O'Donnell, senior vice president and chief operating officer for Vail Resorts Hospitality & Real Estate. 'Her relationships and real estate development savvy will be the perfect complement to our division, particularly as we are now looking to outside firms to develop our land parcels while remaining very involved to ensure projects create value for our guests, the communities we operate in, key stakeholders and our company.'
For the last two years, Keown has served as vice president of hotel investments for Miller Global Properties, LLC in Denver, Colo., where she was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing hospitality acquisitions and developments for the company. She was integral in cultivating partnerships that led to hotel and mixed use development projects around the United States. Prior to Miller Global, Keown was senior director of investment services and feasibility at Denver-based Richfield Hospitality from 2010 to 2014 where she led the company's underwriting efforts throughout the country, including several successful development and management transactions completed during her tenure. Before moving to Colorado, Keown worked as an associate for PKF Consulting in Los Angeles, executing market feasibility studies, repositioning and operational analyses, valuations and plans for hotel-related ventures.
Keown received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University and currently resides in Denver, Colo.
