Valtech named first implementation partner to build multi-screen applications in the forthcoming You.i TV Partner Program.

You.i TV, the company that built You.i Engine, the multiscreen application development platform for video applications, today announced the industry's first SDK designed for developing cross-platform video apps and named Valtech the first member of its upcoming Partner Program.

Valtech, the leading independent international company in digital technology marketing, will develop multiscreen video applications with You.i Engine SDK and integrate with its own Ready4Air platform for app development.

'You.i Engine overcomes all the device fragmentation and technology bottlenecks that have to date limited the ability of programmers and operators to build custom, immersive experiences that bring their brands to life for consumers,'

said Jason Flick, CEO of You.i TV.

'Our Partner Program places the power of You.i Engine in the hands of the world's most talented TV and video application developers, to build and support beautiful and powerful apps faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.'

You.i Engine removes the complexity of building custom multiscreen applications by outputting a single codebase that can be used to build and maintain beautiful apps that work across any screen. The custom rendering engine accesses the GPU directly to produce app performance beyond what's possible in native applications. A direct plugin for Adobe After Effects grants designers unprecedented control of the UI layout and motion.

Partners in the program, as well as their customers, gain:

  • The most immersive brand experiences possible on all platforms, free from traditional hardware platform constraints.
  • Faster rollout of app updates across all platforms simultaneously (phones, tablets, gaming consoles, smart TVs and set top boxes.)
  • Full-motion video interfaces that run more smoothly and feel more like video games than even native apps do.
  • Dramatically lower total cost of ownership due to reduced development and maintenance costs across the application lifecycle.

'Valtech has a rich history of developing premium multi-screen applications for programmers and operators around the world, making it an ideal member of our partner program,' Flick said. 'Valtech's teams have quickly mastered You.i Engine technology, and are currently building applications for multiple global video programmers and operators with our SDK.'

You.i Engine has already been validated with apps that have been developed for global customers such as shomi, Disney, Nick Jr. and Treehouse for Corus Entertainment, Crackle and others.

'You.i Engine is a powerful new app technology that removes so much of the constraints and complexity associated with building applications,'

said Patrik Molander, Global Head of Media at Valtech.

'The combination of You.i Engine and our Ready4Air platform will set a new standard for bringing to market and managing powerful and immersive apps that will revolutionize how media and entertainment companies deliver their video content to consumers.'

You.i TV will showcase the SDK technology at CES 2016 in the Encore Hotel.
