VCA, Veterinarians and Staff from Nine Chicago VCA Animal Hospitals Partner with Amazing Pet Expos to Offer Complimentary On-Site Consultations, Expert Advice and More

VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA) are ensuring that pets adopted from Chicago shelter and rescue organizations get off to a healthy start. As a proud sponsor of this year's Windy City Pet Expo, VCA along with veterinarians and staff from nine local VCA Animal Hospital locations will offer attendees who adopt a shelter pet a complimentary first exam, and provide on-site consultations, expert advice and more to all pet-lovers at the event.

The Windy City Pet Expo takes place at the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Illinois, on Saturday, July 21^st, 2012 from 10AM - 6PM. The VCA booth (#151) will be located near the Mega Adoption Area for Dogs. General admission is free to the public.

"VCA is committed to helping local shelter pets. To that end, we have formed partnerships with many shelters in the area to help give adopted pets a healthy start in life," said VCA Animal Hospitals' Field Manager, Lorrie Nimsgern. "This partnership includes offering a free first exam and also providing some financial assistance for many illnesses discovered upon adoption."

Attendees who adopt a local shelter pet will receive a new pet parent gift bag from VCA, which includes a healthy start certificate for a complimentary first exam. During the initial visit, a VCA veterinarian will evaluate and consult on the pet's overall health by checking the heart and other vital organs, as well as examine for fleas, ticks and other external parasites.

All pet parents and pet enthusiasts who attend the Windy City Pet Expo will have the opportunity to benefit from the exceptional healthcare provided by the VCA Animal Hospitals' teams. Veterinarians and staff will be on-site to provide information on pet healthy start and wellness, nutrition, parasite prevention, first-aid, as well as answer general pet healthcare related questions. Attendees will also receive a complimentary goodie bag and have the opportunity to enter a prize giveaway.
