Advise on sustainability policies and Sustainable Development Framework
Reviewed and approved sustainability management policies for all Vedanta group companies in HSE, Water, Biodiversity, Energy & Carbon, Human Rights, HIV/AIDs and Supplier & Contractors
Oversaw the development of the Sustainable Development Model - introduced a fourth pillar, Strategic Communications
Review and approve targets for sustainability performance and report to the Board on progress
Reviewed and reported to the Board against KPIs for safety, environmental and community relations performance, as well as special projects
Approved sustainability objectives, targets and initiatives for 2016

Recommend initiatives involving leadership, employees and communities at all levels
Improved near-miss reporting and behavioural safety procedures to help prevent harm to employees and contractors
Approved and mandated key Group-level initiatives (WASH, Women Empowerment Principles, IBBI, Model Anganwadi) to promote the sustainability culture among employees, leadership and communities
Launched internal due diligence in compliance with the UN Guiding
Principles on Business and Human Rights
Oversaw the Group-wide implementation of the Vasundhara IT platform
(SAP-EHS and SuPM IT solutions)
Review and report to the Board on performance of the Group and subsidiaries
Oversaw the development of the Sustainable Development Framework and the Sustainability Assurance Programme
