Veidekke Entreprenad AB has entered into an agreement to buy 70 % of the shares in the Swedish concrete element factory AB Recess in the town of Sala, north of Stockholm. 'The acquisition of shares in Recess is a significant investment for Veidekke in element construction in order to achieve higher efficiency and lower costs,' says Group CEO, Arne Giske.

Veidekke in Sweden has cooperated with Recess for a number of years. Together they have developed a module made from fibre-reinforced concrete that can house an entire bathroom, technical installations for apartments, and can be supplied with a fully fitted kitchen. The module is an important part of Veidekke's Swedish concept for cost efficiency and rapid, high quality housing construction that also safeguards the desire for substantial architectural freedom.

Recess also produces concrete elements for walls, balconies, and tunnels. For more than 10 years, the factory and its 32 employees have supplied various technical modules and fibre-reinforced concrete to customers such as Bombardier, Nokia, Siemens, the Swedish Transport Administration, Teracom, and other operators in the Swedish construction industry.

The parties do not wish to disclose the acquisition price for the shares. For more information about Recess, see www.recess.se
