VEOLIA ENVIRONNEMENT : The Veolia Foundation supports the COP 21 certified "Causes and Challenges of Climate Change" MOOC1

Registration for the 'Causes and Challenges of Climate Change' MOOC are open until 23 November via the Virtual University for the Environment and Sustainable Development (UVED) website. The Veolia Foundation supports this COP 21 certified course.
The online course, accessible for free via the France Université Numérique (FUN) platform, will run from 19 October to 30 November 2015. It offers participants a better understanding of climate change related issues. This initiative is in preparation for the COP 21 to be held in Paris from 30 November to 11 December.

These courses will be in the form of videos[2] and will be accompanied by quizzes, homework assessed by peers, and discussions.
Hervé Le Treut - Professor at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and the Ecole Polytechnique, and director of the Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace - is the course's scientific advisor and Jean Jouzel - Director of Research at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) - its sponsor. 36 scientists from 17 different establishments are involved in this MOOC, which obtained the COP 21 certification from France's Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy.
The UVED's 'Causes and Challenges of Climate Change' MOOC is supported by the

, as was their '
Biodiversity' MOOC
issued at the beginning of the year under the scientific supervision of Gilles Boeuf, president of France's National Museum of Natural History. It attracted almost 7000 participants. The 'Biodiversity' MOOC videos are available on the
UVED
website.
Veolia is a member of UVED's Scientific Council. Veolia Research and Innovation's experts will also contribute to the scientific validation of the MOOC's contents.

Veolia Environnement is the world leader in environmental management services. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
