Today, on International Day for Biological Diversity, the Paris authorities and the cultural and artistic enterprise 'Place Grand Public' announced the BiodiversiTerre event, which will take place from 3 to 5 June 2017 in Paris, between Place de l'Étoile and Porte Dauphine.
Families are invited to discover eco-responsible practices on a specially metamorphosed Avenue Foch. In seven ephemeral revegetation tableaux visitors will explore humankind's new relationship with nature. Partnering the event, Veolia will be there to raise public awareness about the circular economy.

In the giant labyrinth designed by Gad Weil using recycled paper balls provided by Veolia, visitors will be invited to answer circular economy riddles. Visitors will also be able to make a wish on the 'wishing trees for nature', or participate in workshops focusing on sorting waste, composting, and the water cycle.
La Recyclerie, in which Veolia is the main partner, will also offer several educational activities: how to make a mini-vegetable garden and seed bombs, and a demonstration of aquaponics (a growing technique that recreates a miniature ecosystem in an aquarium plants).

The creative artist behind this ephemeral vegetation, Gad Weil, explains: 'Nature has evolved with humankind and would not have the same. Nevertheless, it is not necessary to forget the responsibility of owes to nature and that it has to protect it for future generations… For BiodiversiTerre, a world first labyrinth formed by paper balls plunges visitors into a rural universe.'

  • To preserve biodiversity, Veolia helps to continuously improve the environmental performance of its businesses and to limit their environmental impacts.

  • To restore biodiversity, Veolia takes an environmentally friendly approach to managing the areas entrusted to it and creates favourable conditions for maintaining species and their habitats.

In 2015, the Group was officially recognized by France's Ministry of the Environment, Ecology, and Sea for its voluntary commitment to France's National Biodiversity Strategy.
