VeriFone Systems, Inc. (NYSE:PAY), announced today that Phoenix Managed Networks has completed the deployment of VeriFone’s next-generation IntelliNAC i6 network access controller to Phoenix’s PCI compliant transactions network. IntelliNAC has been certified by select payment processors on the Phoenix network and is now processing nearly one hundred million transactions a month.

IntelliNAC i6 from VeriFone provides next-generation networking and the communications infrastructure to deliver unprecedented performance, speed, security, reporting capabilities and data capacity needed to move large volumes of transactions quickly, securely and accurately. Providing an integrated SSL gateway and support for up to 16 T1 high-speed ports, IntelliNAC ensures maximum performance and payment security.

“With deployment of the IntelliNAC i6 in our U.S. network, we are seeing the benefits of improved port density, which gives us the ability to support more high-speed lines with a smaller hardware footprint,” said Dan Sullivan, Phoenix’s Vice-President of Engineering and Chief Security Officer. “The i6’s capability to process IP and dial POS transactions in the same platform reduces complexity in our network deployment, and allows us to provide the best customer care in the business.”

Headquartered in Reston, Va., with network operations centers in Phoenix, Az., and Sheffield, UK, Phoenix Managed Networks is an international services company focused on electronic payments and merchant security. It provides acquirers, payment processors, banks and retailers worldwide with highly reliable and cost-effective data communications and security services for transaction-oriented applications.

“By adding VeriFone’s IntelliNAC i6 to its payment platform, Phoenix Managed Networks is able to achieve better, more efficient performance and ensure its ability to grow with its customers POS transaction needs,” said Shan Ethridge, vice president and general manager, North America Financial Services Group, VeriFone. “With VeriFone networking solutions designed specifically for card payment transactions, Phoenix Managed Networks offers its customers superior POS connectivity with superior performance, reliability and manageability.”

VeriFone’s IntelliNAC delivers electronic transactions to support the high-density, multi-function characteristics of multiple payment environments. It provides hot swap functionality for expansion of deployed products without interrupting current operations. IntelliNAC also supports logging records to provide details about payment transactions and manages security levels to support multi-zone data encryption and the secure movement of thousands of transactions.
