Notice to the Market
São Caetano do Sul, February 20, 2017 -VIA VAREJO S.A. ('Via Varejo' or the 'Company'), in accordance with Art. 12 of CVM Ruling 358/02, discloses that it received, on the date hereof, a communication from da Nuveen, LLC (formerly designated TIAA Global Asset Management LLC), in its capacity of indirect controller of the management funds Teachers Advisors, LLC ('Teachers') and TIAA-CREF Investment Management, LLC ('TCIM'), through which it was informed that investment funds assisted by Teachers and TCIM acquired Units which, together with the interest held by Nuveen, LLC, correspond to 63,620,868 preferred shares, representative of, approximately, 10.02% of the total preferred shares issued by the Company.
