VIADUKT DD Today the President of Viadukt Management Board Mr. Joško Mikulić signed in Pakrac the Contract for construction of the earth fill dam with the supporting structures and flood barriers upstream from the barrier location including the access road at the crown of dam storage basin Šumetlica. The value of this Contract amounts to 73.644.699,90 kunas exclusive of VAT, and it includes construction of 40 meter high dam within the time period of 36 months what makes this dam one of the highest dams in Croatia.
This multipurpose structure shall play an important role in the water supply system for the population of Pakrac, Lipik and other surrounding villages, and shall provide for the industries and minor businesses, in addition to irrigation of the surrounding agricultural areas. The storage basin shall also provide space necessary in case of high waters what shall increase the security level and prevent flood at the downstream regions.
Along with Mr. Joško Mikulić signing of the Contract was attended by the General Manager of Hrvatske vode Mr. Zoran Đuroković, Ms. Anamarija Blažević in function of the Mayor of Pakrac, the representatives of the contractors Brodska Posavina, Lonja-Strug and Vodoprivreda Zagorje as well as the other guests invited.
