AUGUSTUS ESTATE A HIT WITH FIRST HOME BUYERS

AN incentive allowing first home buyers to get a foothold in the Hervey Bay property ladder without a deposit is driving sales at Villa World's Augustus estate at Urraween.

First home buyers Tim and Karen Fitzgibbon have taken advantage of Villa World's exclusive zero deposit offer to secure a house and land package in the growing estate.

The couple has secured a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home complete with a media room and entertaining area.

Mrs Fitzgibbon said everything fell into place after she stumbled across an advertisement for the offer online.

"We looked into the estate, walked through the homes and were really pleased to find out how attainable it was to buy a new home here," she said.

"We've been given a leg up by the $15,000 First Home Owner Grant and the $12,000 cashback from the Council's Building Better Regional Cities program.

"Those incentives, and Villa World's zero deposit offer, made the option to buy financially viable for us."

Mrs Fitzgibbon said as well as financial motivations, the quality of the home and location of the community, were major selling points.

"We were pleasantly surprised with how much privacy and space we have - we have room to move, but have also become a part of a great little community," she said.

Villa World development manager Gary Hunter said sales at Augustus were tracking well with a wide cross-section of the market including young families, first home buyers and downsizers showing interest.

"We have a complete address philosophy - that is, we deliver the whole estate, right down to the footpaths and the trees that line the streets - and that approach is resonating with a broad range of buyers," he said.

"Augusts' proximity to schools, shopping, transport and the recently opened St Stephen's Hospital is also a large part of the appeal."

Augustus boasts a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes set amid landscaped parks and adjacent to nine hectares of native bushland.

Homes are prices from $299,000 less incentives for eligible buyers.

Several stages of Augustus have sold out and the current release, The Parkway, offers homes overlooking the estate's expansive community parklands.

Augustus is just 3km from the Hervey Bay CBD and is close to schools, local shopping, St Stephen's Hospital and Hervey Bay Golf and Country Club.
