MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jul 29, 2015) - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ", "VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:VQS) announced that the Corporation's South Africa-based reseller, Digital Voice Processing ("DVP"), has been selected by the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature (South Africa) to provide a digital audio-video capture, management and transcription solution for their parliamentary proceedings. The installation is scheduled to commence in the fall.

The VIQ Legislature solution provides Mpumalanga with a multi-channel, multi-language audio-video capture workflow that will be installed in the main chamber to record parliamentary proceedings. The project also includes remote annotation stations and a Backup Logger to provide automated 24/7 recording, ensuring complete redundancy.

The VIQ Legislature solution also includes an integrated, secure transcription workflow based on VIQ's sophisticated NetScribe technology that will enable the Legislature's transcriptionists to produce the daily Hansard in a timely and efficient manner. NetScribe enables recordings to be automatically parsed into smaller segments, allowing multiple transcriptionists to be working on the same recording simultaneously.

"We are delighted to add the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature to our growing list of esteemed customers in the legislature market," said Sebastien Paré, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions. "VIQ Legislature provides the sophisticated AV capture, workflow, and collaboration that allows parliaments and legislatures around the world to capture and publish audio, video and written transcripts. Our long-term successes in Africa with DVP and their network of local AV experts give us tremendous momentum, scalability and referenceability at a time when many new government initiatives are underway to modernize transparency and evidence-based workflow in legislatures, courts, immigration agencies, militaries and law enforcement organizations."

The prestigious contract follows numerous recent wins for DVP, including the National Assembly in Mauritius, the Lesotho Judiciary and the South African National Defense Force.

"Congratulations to DVP, who continue to be recognized as the premier experts for digital audio-video recording solutions across Africa," added Mr. Paré. "They are tremendous champions for VIQ's leading-edge technology solutions as we pursue sophisticated digital recording customers in all regions of Africa."
