The sailing partnership, with Jean-Pierre Dick, a veterinarian by training, is due to end in December 2017 and will not be extended. For 17 years, Virbac has accompanied the incredible round-the-world adventures of Jean-Pierre Dick and his team. This partnership has benefited the Group and was unique for its longevity, allowing Jean-Pierre to build one of the greatest track records in French sailing.

In 2018, after 15 years and 5 major victories on the Imoca circuit, Jean-Pierre Dick is entrusting Yann Eliès with the captaincy of his monohull, to secure a place in the 2020 Vendée Globe race. As the head of Absolute Dreamer ocean racing team, Jean-Pierre will deploy all his energy to build a winning project for Yann Eliès.

The partnership signed with Jean-Pierre Dick, veterinarian and son of our founder, is due to end in December 2017 and will not be extended. The need to renew, after a partnership of 17 years, and the limitations imposed by the Law on the Future of Agriculture in France have led Virbac to think about new measures. Virbac will therefore work on new projects through its business foundation, of which Jean-Pierre Dick will continue to be president.

Jean-Pierre Dick: 'I hold the Virbac group in very high esteem. They have supported me throughout this Imoca adventure, whose partnership will finish at this year's end. Their support lasted 17 years! This is unprecedented in the history of French sailing. I want to express my enormous thanks to Virbac for all these years of trust. The company has been the solid foundation behind our success. I would like to thank Virbac's executive board for renewing their commitment year after year, and the thousands of partners involved in this Virbac challenge, who showed their unwavering support over the years.'

Éric Marée, chairman of Virbac's executive board declared: 'We are obviously feeling a range of emotions. But above all we are proud, proud of having seen the birth of magnificent boats that were always on the cutting edge of innovation, proud of having been part of a team of long-standing sponsors dedicated to the project, and proud to have achieved magnificent victories year after year. Over this long period, Virbac has benefited from a sponsorship deal that generated notoriety, customer enthusiasm and employee pride... Hats off to Jean-Pierre!'.
