Business activity analysis

The Francophone area shows a slight decrease of 3% of sales compared to the first quarter of 2012, knowing that at same number of working days the activity remains stable. Compared to fourth quarter 2012 figures, Q1 2013 revenue increased slightly (+1.2%). France and Belgium resists well despite pricing pressure maintained by some major clients. Luxembourg, suffering heavy losses in 2012, returned to a profit in the first quarter of 2013 due to the investment of a new management team and employees, and shows a 10.3% growth.
In Germany, restructuring efforts starting at the end of 2012 and continuing into 2013 had an impact on sales, which amounted to €4.7 million, down 9.6% compared to last year. The subsidiary specialized in the automobile sector performed well in growth and income. The subsidiary specialized in business consulting and SAP not yet achieves its objectives in the first quarter. However, the gain and renewal of major contracts should have a positive effect in the second half of 2013.
The North & South region (The Netherlands, Spain, Panama, Portugal and Italy) is heavily penalized by the very difficult economic environment in the southern European countries and records a 13.6% decrease of sales over the period. The "on-site" business activity of the Italian subsidiary was sold on December 31, 2012. In the Netherlands, the restructuring completed last year had a negative impact on sales, but proved beneficial for margins.

The lower number of working days during the period negatively impacts the first quarter performance. However, compared to the last quarter of 2012 and given the number of billable days, organic growth is stable at 0.1%.

Outlook

Despite a difficult economic environment with continuing pressure on prices, Vision IT Group has a dynamic business producing a strong level of activity that has shown improvements since the beginning of the year. With the completion of restructuring efforts which have been carried out the past two years, the opening of a new office in Panama where business is much more dynamic than in the European market, and the implementation of its strategic plan Next Vision, the Group is expected to return to positive organic growth within all of its subsidiaries during the course of 2013.
