Volkswagen supports the Special Project Applied Art Pavilion 'A World of Fragile Parts' presented by La Biennale di Venezia and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Part of the 15 International Architecture Exhibition, the exhibition will be open from 28 May until 27 November and on display in the Sale d'Armi within the Venice Arsenale.

Connecting two key institutions in the sphere of art and design, 'A World of Fragile Parts' is dedicated to the highly-debated role of copies when it comes to the preservation of cultural artefacts. The exhibition addresses pressing questions that arise from technological innovations and changes within societies and environments, that can threaten works in various fields of the arts. Curated by V&A's Brendan Cormier, 'A World of Fragile Parts' presents installations and ideas from international artists.

'This exhibition draws peoples' attention to the close relations between social, technological and cultural developments. And it perfectly refers to the importance of art in our world, echoing our belief that creativity leads the way to tomorrow. Therefore it is a pleasure for the Volkswagen Group to support this pioneering project', says Benita von Maltzahn, Head of Cultural Engagement at Volkswagen Group Communications.

Volkswagen's support for 'A World of Fragile Parts' builds on the recent cooperation between the Group and the London-based museum for the current V&A Engineering Season, representing a vital part of the Group's international commitment to art and culture. In collaboration with partners such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Nationalgalerie - Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Volkswagen supports a variety of platforms that allow a broad audience to engage with art and culture.
