Volt Information Sciences Ranks Among Top Companies Leveraging Social Media for Business

Recruiters Score Highest in Social Media Usage

NEW YORK, August 16, 2011 — Volt Information Sciences, Inc., a global provider of talent, technology and consulting solutions, announced its ranking on the “Top 25 Social Companies” list in the 2011 Social Business Report . The report, published annually by NetProspex, a leading B2B sales and marketing database firm, offers a snapshot of the social media activity and trends of business people in the U.S. across major social networks. Volt achieved inclusion in this respected report, along with several of their premier customers which include some of the world’s leading technology, entertainment and media companies. The attached chart shows the Top 25 Companies on the NetProspex Social Index (NPSI).

NetProspex developed the report through an analysis of the verified business contacts available in its crowd-sourced database.  12 million employees at U.S.-based businesses were analyzed for Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn activity. The newly released report ranks the top performers—breaking them down by company, industry, job title and geographic region.

The report measured and ranked activity across three of the largest networks: LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. The rankings are based on the NetProspex Social Index (NPSI), a score comprised of social media presence (the number of employees in a category with social media profiles registered under a business email address), and social connectedness (the average number of connections per employee across major social networks).

Among the notable findings in the NetProspex Summer Social Media Report are that job recruiters are the most social, ranking the #1 most savvy employees in their usage of Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Tom Daley, President of Volt Workforce Solutions, the staffing business unit of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. commented, “It is a great privilege for Volt to be the only talent recruitment company to receive national recognition among the Top 25 Social Companies. It’s no surprise that recruiters are among the most well-connected when it comes to interacting with networks of business professionals. To meet today’s hiring realities, it’s essential that recruiters know the right people and rely on strong social networks to secure the best talent for our clients.”
