BANCO WAL-MART APPOINTS

JOSE MARIA URQUIZA AS NEW CEO

Mexico City. December 11, 2008
The Board of Directors of Banco Wal-Mart de Mexico Adelante SA, Institucion de Banca Multiple, appointed
Jose Maria Urquiza as new CEO, replacing Julio Bosco Gomez, who is retiring from the company.
Since the bank started operations a year ago, Wal-Mart de Mexico's value proposition has been complemented by providing our customers with quality banking services at the best market conditions. "Following the great job done by Julio Gomez in the initial phase, the Board of Directors has entrusted Jose Maria Urquiza with the task of enhancing and consolidating the bank's operational and organizational structure and to achieve its highest potential" said Eduardo Solorzano, Chairman of Banco Wal-Mart de Mexico.
Eduardo Solorzano added that Urquiza's vision, broad experience in the banking sector and his proven management skills will allow him to lead the bank towards further expansion of its range of products for our retail customers, especially those having limited or no access to bank services, always maintaining a conservative approach to risk while ensuring the simplicity and transparency of all products offered.
Solorzano recognized Julio Bosco Gomez as a "key player in the start-up of the first and only Wal-Mart Bank around the world. Under his leadership, in just few months Banco Wal-Mart has managed to position itself as an ally of the Mexican families".
Worthy of note is the fact that during this first year of operations, Banco Wal-Mart has won over 115,000 customers; it opened 128,565 accounts, 38 MACS and 357 modules.
