WAL-MART DE MEXICO ANOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF

EDUARDO SOLORZANO AS PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND OF SCOT RANK AS PRESIDENT AND CEO FREE TRANSLATION, NOT TO THE LETTER

Mexico City, December 18, 2009
The Board of Directors of Wal-Mart de México announces the appointment of Eduardo Solorzano as PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD. Additionally, Mr. Solorzano has been promoted to PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF WALMART LATIN AMERICA, with responsibilities for the operations in Mexico and Central America, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Puerto Rico.
Under Eduardo's leadership during these 5 years, Wal-Mart de Mexico achieved important results in multiple indicators:

The company doubled the number of units, from 694 to 1,436 stores and restaurants in operation. The number of customers served grew 12% compounded annually, while sales grew

14%.
Operating Margin went from 6.8% to 8.2%1, and EBITDA increased from 8.7% to 9.9%1.
Ernesto Vega, who until now was the President of the Board of Wal-Mart de México, will remain as
Independent Director.

In addition, Scot Rank who currently is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer has been promoted to PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF WAL-MART DE MEXICO, in substitution of Eduardo Solorzano, effective January 18 2010.
Scot Rank is an officer with considerable experience in the consumer and self-service industries of Mexico. Born in the United States, he has ties to Mexico for over 25 years. Prior to joining Wal-Mart de México, Scot worked in the apparel clothing chain Aca Joe, McKinsey & Co. consultancy firm and, in the consumer industry, at Crisoba & The Coca-Cola Company.
Scot joined Wal-Mart de Mexico in the year 2000 as Deputy Vice President for Bodega Aurrerá, being promoted to Vice President six months after. In 2003, he was appointed Senior Vice President for Self-Service, responsible for Walmart, Superama and Bodega Aurrerá business formats.

In January 2005, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the six retail sales business formats that are part of the Group, including the 3 Self- Service formats, Sam's, Suburbia and the Vips restaurant division. During his 4 years as responsible for operations, Scot and his team achieved a 79% sales growth, and a 112% growth in earning.
Under his leadership, Wal-Mart de México has grown at an accelerated pace with the creation of new Business Formats (Mi Bodega Aurrerá and Bodega Aurrerá Express), effective communication campaigns (Mama Lucha), and the establishment of close relationships with supplier communities, strengthening and maintaining the Every Day Low Prices strategy. His team is recognized for its talent, commitment and performance. Scot is a founding director of the Wal-Mart de México Foundation and has proactively supported all community-oriented and environmental care activities held by Walmart de México.
In addition to this new responsibility, Scot Rank will join as member of the Board of Directors of
Walmart de Mexico.
Scot Rank was born in 1960. He has two undergraduate degrees -Biology and Economics, both from the University of California, at Davis. He also has an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
