Warimpex sells hotels in Ekaterinburg

Vienna, 17 November 2015 - Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG has sold its 60 per cent share in the angelo and Liner hotels at Koltsovo International Airport in Ekaterinburg to a private investor. The sales agreement was successfully concluded on 29 September. The transaction is now being announced after the expiration of the waiting period agreed between the parties at the request of the buyer. The parties agreed that the selling price would not be disclosed. Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG will continue to operate the establishments.

'The sale of our majority stakes in the two hotels took place under the currently difficult market conditions in Russia but will have a positive impact on our balance sheet,' said Warimpex CEO Franz Jurkowitsch. 'Despite our withdrawal from Ekaterinburg, Russia will remain one of our most important core markets, where we are making good progress in the development of AIRPORTCITY St. Petersburg. The fully let out Zeppelin office tower was recently completed as part of the second construction phase.'

About the angelo and Liner hotels

The four-star angelo airport hotel was opened in 2009 and is connected directly to the passenger terminal of Ekaterinburg-Koltsovo International Airport, which is a key hub between Europe and Asia. The hotel offers a total of 211 sound-insulated rooms and suites. The growing clientèle from Russia and international guests can also take advantage of a 1,344-square-metre conference centre with twelve conference rooms and state-of- the-art equipment. While the angelo was newly built, the Liner Hotel with its 152 rooms has been in operation since 1986 and was converted into a three-star hotel according to international standards.
