Leeds' newest retail destination, Victoria Gate, opened its doors on 20th October 2016.

The grand opening was a star-studded event including appearances by Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, dancers from Northern Ballet, and live performances by English pop-rock band Scouting for Girls amongst the thousands of attendees. Celebrations and special events were held at the new centre on the day and will continue into the weekend.

The £165m development is anchored by the flagship John Lewis store as well as 30 new retailers and restaurants making Victoria Gate the go to premium shopping, leisure and dining destination in the North. Visitors will be able to enjoy a best-in-class experience of exceptional customer service and digital innovation by offering click & collect services as well as a luxury concierge service.

We are proud to have provided multidiscipline services on the development and were also appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to complete the multidisciplinary engineering services design as part of their design and build contract, with additional expertise provided on the acoustics, fire engineering and transportation.

Nick Taylor, attended the opening ceremony along with the project team. He commented; 'We were thrilled to be at the opening of Victoria Gate to celebrate this tremendous milestone after many years of commitment. It is huge achievement and a career highlight for the entire project team.'
