Webster Financial : Bankers Honored for Community Volunteerism

WATERBURY, Conn., September 29, 2016- Webster Bank received the H.D. Bassett Award from Newtown Youth and Family Services (NYFS), recognizing outstanding volunteer contributions on behalf of the agency. This annual award was initiated in 1990 to honor H.D. Bassett, a former board member and dedicated volunteer for The Family Counseling Center. The ceremony took place Sept. 27 at Rock Ridge County Club in Newtown

As part of Webster's 80 Days of Giving program to celebrate its 80th anniversary, a team of eight Webster bankers, representing banking centers on Newtown Road and North Street in Danbury, Connecticut, volunteered at the 30th Annual Holiday Festival to benefit NYFS. Their efforts earned a $1,000 grant for the agency.
