At Welltower, we value fully engaging in the communities where we live and work. One way we do this is by supporting local organizations that provide services to improve the lives of area residents, with a particular focus on healthcare, education and the arts. Welltower is proud to support the Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic exhibition at the Toledo Museum of Art. The exhibit includes 60 spectacular paintings and sculptures spanning the 14-year career of contemporary artist Kehinde Wiley exploring ideas of race, gender and the politics of representation. Wiley is best known for reimagining poses from Old Masters paintings. He replaces the European aristocrats depicted in those paintings with contemporary black subjects. 'The Toledo Museum of Art is a true treasure,' said Christy Stone, Senior Vice President, Human Capital. 'Welltower is proud to support the museum and their work to bring world-renowned art collections to our community.' 'Our mission has a distinct focus on wellness, particularly for people as they age. Whether viewing it or creating it, art has been shown to have a positive impact people's health and wellbeing,' Stone added. The Kehinde Wiley exhibit, sponsored in part by Welltower, is on view at the Toledo Museum of Art February 10 through May 14. For more information about the exhibit, view the Toledo Museum of Art's website.
