PRESS RELEASE May 10, 2015

Wendel vehemently refutes the CRAN's unfounded accusations

Wendel is stupefied to learn that legal action has been initiated against it for alleged "ties to the Negro slave trade", for being an "accomplice to crimes against humanity" and for "hiding crimes against humanity".

Wendel vehemently refutes these unfounded accusations. The Negro slave trade does not have and has never had any historical, economic or intellectual connection with Wendel. The nature and seriousness of these allegations are contrary to all of the values and commitments that the Wendel group and its teams promote throughout the world.

On this National Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade, Slavery and their Abolition, Wendel would like to reaffirm its deep attachment to the duty of remembrance.

Wendel reserves all rights to demand reparation for these vile accusations.
