QUARTERLY STATEMENT OF PRODUCTION, DEVELOPMENT AND EXPLORATION 1 JULY TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2014 CURRAGH Production
Overburden removal was 1.9 per cent lower than the previous quarter.
Coal production for the quarter was 3,132,000 tonnes (comprising 2,290,000 tonnes of metallurgical coal and 842,000 tonnes of steaming coal), 6.1 per cent lower than the previous quarter. Metallurgical coal production decreased by 4.8 per cent and steaming coal production decreased by 9.3 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
For the 12 months to 30 September 2014, metallurgical coal production increased by
24.2 per cent to 9,099,000 tonnes and steaming coal production increased 7.1 per cent to
3,512,000 tonnes. The prior comparable period was impacted by a scheduled mine shutdown in December 2012/January 2013 and wet weather associated with
Cyclone Oswald in early 2013.
There was no significant development activity during the quarter.

BENGALLA ProductionWesfarmers' share of coal production for the quarter was 833,000 tonnes, 1.8 per cent above the previous quarter due to operating in a slightly more productive section of the mining sequence. For the 12 months to 30 September 2014, Wesfarmers' share of coal production increased 2.2 per cent to 3,396,000 tonnes.
