MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WidePoint Corporation (NYSE Mkt: WYY) a leading provider of Managed Mobility Services (MMS) specializing in Cybersecurity and Telecommunications Lifecycle Management (TLM) solutions, today announces new contract awards and renewals. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have issued new contracts and option year contract renewals worth approximately $2 million. Six new commercial customers have also recently entered into agreements totaling up to $1.9 million in value.

Jason Holloway, chief sales and marketing officer of WidePoint, said, "These awards are a positive start to a busy Federal 2016 year-end award cycle for our TLM, Cybersecurity, and Consulting business lines, while also demonstrating the positive momentum we are starting to witness in our commercial customer base. We are seeing the first examples of having successfully positioned ourselves to demonstrate the unique and trusted value our services bring to both current and new federal clients as we move into the busy federal contracting period. Rounding out these recent successes, we are also currently in the process of aggressively implementing our TLM solution to six recently contracted new commercial market clients."

The new and expanded work with the DHS and the NIH demonstrate the benefits and savings our ITMS(TM) Telecom Lifecycle Management platform offers to federal agencies, while the renewals at the CDC and FBI continue to build upon a long history of TLM and consulting services supporting key areas of need in protecting the citizens of our country.

Jin Kang, chief operations officer of WidePoint, said, "These new awards and option year renewals demonstrate the positive benefits our services and expertise bring to both our federal and commercial clients. They also support our strategic goals of expanding our federal base of business as we broaden our reach to other major departments and agencies, and showcase the positive past performance and savings we can offer."

WidePoint's commercial additions include a major insurance company, a healthcare organization, and several other technology companies that will utilize the ITMS(TM) platform. They also provide WidePoint the opportunity to showcase its Cybersecurity offerings including Certificate-on-Device(TM) and other trusted solutions.
