Wienerberger one of the highest weighted shares in the ATX
Vienna, March 03, 2016 - Wienerberger AG is content to announce the inclusion into the ATX five index of the Vienna Stock Exchange. This decision was officially made on March 2, 2016 by the ATX Committee. The ATX five is a capitalization weighted price index, which consists of the five shares with the highest weighting in the ATX. As of March 21, 2016 the ATX five will include the following shares: Andritz AG, Erste Group Bank AG, OMV AG, voestalpine AG und Wienerberger AG. Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG, comments the decision of the committee: 'Wienerberger is a pure free float company and beside the favorable development of our share price, such high free float factor clearly supported the inclusion into the ATX five. It is a signal of strength that after 10 years we are again part of this index.'
The ATX five is a capitalization weighted price index, which consists of the five shares with the highest weighting in the ATX. The inclusion in the ATX five or the removal from the ATX five is decided on basis of the index capitalization in the ATX. The calculation of the ATX five is based on the ATX. The calculation is done on a real-time basis.

Wienerberger AG is one of Europe's largest building materials producers. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- walls, ceilings and roofing (54%): perforated bricks, facing bricks, tiles (clay, concrete or chimney tiles). Wienerberger AG is the world's leading producer of bricks;
- pipes (27%): pipes for water conveyance and sewers and concrete floor tiles.
The remaining sales (19%) relate to activity in North America.
At the end of 2022, the group operated 216 industrial sites worldwide.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Germany (6%), the United Kingdom (8.2%), the Netherlands (8%), Austria (5.8%), Poland (5.5%), France (5%), Europe (30.5%), the United States (17.4%) and other (13.6%).
