Name change of _wige MEDIA AG to SPORTTOTAL AG immediately effective

Cologne, 4 September 2017. _wige MEDIA AG's new name is now SPORTTOTAL AG. The company's new name, approved by the Annual General Meeting on 20 July 2017, has meanwhile been entered into the commercial register. "SPORTTOTAL AG represents the future business model of our company much more forcefully than the name we had before. Take our new sporttotal.tv digital platform, for example, which we consider to be one of the company's major growth drivers. SPORTTOTAL AG therefore stands for a new, promising chapter in the history of the company," emphasises Peter Lauterbach, CEO of SPORTTOTAL AG. SPORTTOTAL AG has geared its value creation one hundred percent to sport and concentrated it in the three business lines of VENUES, LIVE and DIGITAL. VENUES implements the technical infrastructure necessary for the medialisation of sports events, both national and international. The LIVE business line organises and markets events and provides branded content for this purpose. In sporttotal.tv, the DIGITAL business line has built up a quickly scalable digital business model.

sporttotal.tv is to become Europe's most important digital video platform.

sporttotal.tv is an independent TV streaming station with it's own broadcasting licence which allows it to sell its own content and create its own digital reach. The central element is formed by amateur sport which has so far not been documented because of the high investment hurdles. To further this goal, sporttotal.tv went into partnership with the Israeli company Pixellot to develop unrivalled exclusive access to the world's leading automated video technology. Following the successful conclusion of the pilot phase, sporttotal.tv entered into an exclusive 10-year contract with the German Football Association (DFB) to which all 21 national and five regional associations belong. An important part of the partnership is the cooperation with FUSSBALL.de, one of the largest amateur sport platforms in the world with more than three billion page impressions a year and a decisive reach multiplier for sporttotal.tv. sporttotal.tv is initially to equip football clubs, starting with the fourth league downwards, with special 180 degree video technology which enables football games to be broadcast in a high quality and fully automatically live on the sporttotal.tv online portal. The installation and operation of sporttotal.tv is free for the clubs. After a one-year launch phase, the clubs' membership of sporttotal.tv (EUR 9.90 a month) will entitle them to participate in advertising revenue of 10 percent of all in-video proceeds. sporttotal.tv is the video platform with the greatest reach for German amateur football by a wide margin and therefore very attractive to advertising partners: sporttotal.tv has signed a long-term contract with Hyundai as its automotive partner, for example. Allianz Deutschland AG, Deutsche Post AG, as well as Telekom Deutschland and BILD as the media partner already support the wholly-owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG as founding partners. sporttotal.tv is to be established as the moving image platform for amateur football throughout Germany and to become Europe's most important sport video platform in the long term.
