The latest issue of Wilhelmsen Ships Service's innovative customer magazine HELM launches today at SMM Hamburg

Featuring a cheeky, custom-made cover created by illustrator Eddie Guy, whose work typically graces the New York Times, Vogue and Rolling Stone, issue three of HELM focuses on the human element in shipping.

Looking at the various issues currently confronting our people, on board and on shore, including an in-depth feature on the ongoing development of STCW, this newest issue also gazes into the future, considering how our industry could and should, develop its staff.

Containing an inspiring and entertaining view on the future of manpower, by Jan Ketil Arnulf, Associate Professor at Norway's Business School, the magazine also looks at our industry's in-depth knowledge, courtesy of leading maritime economist Torger Reve, and weighs up the benefits of risk management with Safetec's Jens Rolfsen.

Packed with stories and features on WSS' latest products, services and the people behind them, including maritime logistics, cargo-hold cleaning and life raft rental, it also includes an up-close profile of one of WSS' key people in port, the Port Sales Engineer.

Completed with a city profile on Europe's largest port, Rotterdam, a review of the Norwegian Sailor Tattoo book, an overview of the IMO's Polar Code and a final word on the shipping industry's finances with Nordea's Hans Christian Kjelsrud, the latest issue of HELM is all but essential reading.
