Williams-Sonoma announces today the launch of its campaign to benefit No Kid Hungry, including a new series of events supporting the national nonprofit. Williams-Sonoma’s lineup of events will kick off on September 12th with a kids’ cookie decorating class, followed by a bake sale. Proceeds from both of these events will go directly to No Kid Hungry, which is ending childhood hunger in America by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. On September 19th, stores will host a back-to-school themed class in partnership with American Girl. The class costs $30 per child, with 20 percent of proceeds benefitting No Kid Hungry, and participants will take home a goody bag with American Girl Sandwich Cutters.

Over the last four years, Williams-Sonoma has raised nearly one million dollars for No Kid Hungry through in-store fundraising, events and proceeds from exclusive products. President of Williams-Sonoma Janet Hayes remarks, “In this country, one out of every five children struggles with hunger. This is a staggering statistic that has inspired me to rally our brand to support No Kid Hungry’s work to make sure all kids have the healthy food they need, every day.” Williams-Sonoma has set a goal to raise $500,000 in the month of September, nearly doubling their fundraising goal from 2014.

In addition to the events, Williams-Sonoma’s “Tools for Change” program returns from 2014. This year’s “Tools” include a Kid’s Knife, a Cookie Mix, a Cupcake Liner Set and the popular, celebrity-designed spatulas. The products dedicate 30 percent of the retail price to No Kid Hungry, which can connect a child with ten healthy meals for just $1. This year’s illustrations were contributed by Chef David Chang, Chef Tyler Florence’s son Hayden, Chef Stephanie Izard, Nascar star Danica Patrick, Grace Thomas (American Girl “Girl of the Year”), and Chef Michael Voltaggio. The limited-edition collection is on sale in-stores and online for $12.95 each. The light silicone spatulas are ideal for family baking, and are the perfect gift for aspiring chefs of all ages. “Tools for Change” recently kicked off a weekly Instagram video series highlighting the spatula and designers. To join the “Tools for Change” conversation, post a photo of your favorite spatula using #spatdown and tagging @NoKidHungry and @williamssonoma.
