Williams-Sonoma will be reopening a retail location with a new cooking school and comprehensive Williams-Sonoma Home showroom featuring a dedicated Design Center in Costa Mesa at the South Coast Plaza on December 5th. The retailer has relocated to a larger site within the shopping center to better serve customers in Orange County with enhanced culinary experiences and expert design services. Williams-Sonoma’s presence in Costa Mesa dates back to 1972 when the retailer first opened in the area. More than three decades later, Williams-Sonoma remains a leading source for cookware in Orange County and now, home furnishings. Doors open to the public at 9am on December 5th with all-day demonstrations scheduled in the store. On Saturday, December 6th, Williams-Sonoma hosts Chef Tyler Florence for an in-store book signing at noon for his new book Inside The Test Kitchen. South Coast Plaza is recognized as the premier center for luxury and quality in Southern California with the highest total sales volume of any shopping center in the United States. Williams-Sonoma President Janet Hayes remarks, “We’re thrilled to be re-opening in Costa Mesa with a larger store that allows us to present a full, lifestyle experience and inspire shoppers right in time for the holidays.” Williams-Sonoma will be offering a “Buy More, Save More” promotion where customers can receive up to 25% off at the new South Coast Plaza location as part of the opening day festivities. The first 100 shoppers on both Friday and Saturday spending $25 will receive a free Open Kitchen canvas bag with their purchase. The store will also be launching a sweepstakes to celebrate the opening with a grand prize package that includes a two-night stay at the Montage Laguna Beach with a Chef’s Tasting for two at the property’s restaurant, Studio.

Williams-Sonoma’s new location at South Coast Plaza boasts over 8,700 square feet and includes a ten-seat cooking school that will hold cooking classes where students can learn the latest techniques for preparing a selection of innovative recipes led by Chef Joffrey Lopez. With more than eight years of experience as a Williams-Sonoma Culinary Professional, Chef Lopez, a native of Southern California, is well-known for his private, in-home consultations and will be offering his talent to the public at the Cooking School, where registration is now open for classes in January. Cooking classes begin at $50 per person and space can be reserved in person or by calling the store.

An expansive Williams-Sonoma Home showroom with Design Center offering complimentary design services debuts as well at the South Coast Plaza store with custom fabrics, swatches of wood finishes and rug samples available onsite. The opening celebration continues on December 18th at 6:00pm when Williams-Sonoma welcomes special guest, celebrity designer, Jeffrey Alan Marks from Bravo’s Million Dollar Decorators who will lead a presentation on decorating and a signing of his book, The Meaning of Home.
