Home furnishings retailer West Elm will open a new store in Breton Village in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. The 10,000 square foot store will open with West Elm’s pre-fall assortment and suite of complimentary design services. Crafted goods from 10 Michigan-based artists and creators including June & December, Type Shy and Reed Wilson Design will be featured as part of West Elm’s LOCAL initiative, which supports more than 200 independent artists and designers across the country.

 

West Elm has partnered with Michigan-based artist Whimsy & Wild to design an exclusive tote bag to celebrate the opening. The tote will be gifted to the first 300 shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase. Additional store opening activities include a sweepstakes* that offers local customers a chance to win a $2,000 gift and an invitation to a private pre-opening celebration cohosted with Grand Rapid’s Hey Gorgeous Events on June 10 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
