West Elm enlisted Solana Beach artist Andy Davis to contribute to the unique design of the new store. Widely recognized as one of the world’s best surf artists, Davis created an original work of art for the back of the new store’s cash wrap. Printed on Baltic birch wood, Davis employs his trademark style in a captivating design depicting a surfer riding a wave. The artist describes this custom piece designed for West Elm as, "A lesson in staying balanced and in control in these very hectic times." The neutral palette adds to the timeless nature of the installation meant to guide customers on a “visual vacation, leaving all who see it feeling full of good vibes,” said Davis.

West Elm will host a pre-opening celebration on Wednesday, November 15 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with special guests and in-store activities including limited edition tote bags screen printed on site by Solana Beach-based artist Andy Davis co-founder of Way Way Out There and a pop-up art shop by Design Milk founder Jaime Derringer.
