LITTLE ROCK, Ark., April 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
Windstream Hosted Solutions (Nasdaq:WIN), one of the
premier providers of enterprise-class managed hosting
solutions, today announced the opening of its
newest data center in
Little Rock. The center was designed to meet the growing
demand for cloud-based and dedicated managed services,
underscoring Windstream's commitment to its customer base
nationwide.
The 30,000-square-foot data center is specifically built to
meet the constantly evolving, stringent requirements of 24/7,
"always on" companies. Designed with 2N power
distribution and parallel uninterruptible power supplies
(UPS), Windstream Hosted Solutions' new data center
ensures companies that access to their servers, applications
and data will be available at any hour.
Windstream has
data centers located in or near major metropolitan areas
from coast-to-coast, including Boston, Charlotte,
Philadelphia, Phoenix and more.
To celebrate the formal opening of the new Windstream data
center, Windstream will hold an invitation-only grand opening
event on April 19. Windstream President and CEO Jeff Gardner,
Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe, and Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola
will be in attendance.
"As more companies realize the benefits of cloud-based
services, the demand for data centers that provide enhanced
offerings and greater security has skyrocketed," said
Kip Turco, Windstream Hosted Solutions' senior vice
president of data center operations. "We have gone to
great lengths to ensure that the services supplied to our
business customers through the Little Rock data center are
reliable, giving us the ability to provide the most secure
and solid service available."
The
new
Windstream
data center provides circuit redundancies that ensure no
single point of failure. In addition, all core network gear
within the data center is fully redundant as
