The Board of Wm. Morrison Plc ("Morrisons") notes the announcement made by Ocado Group PLC ("Ocado") this morning confirming that it is in discussions with Morrisons which may lead to an agreement to licence certain of Ocado's intellectual property and operating knowledge for the purpose of Morrison commencing an on line grocery business in the UK.

In its preliminary results statement for the year to 3 February 2013, released this morning, the Board of Morrison has announced its decision to enter the online grocery market and confirms that the matters under discussion with Ocado may form part of the implementation of the strategy for entering that market. Morrisons decision to enter the online grocery market is not dependent on the outcome of these discussions. There is no certainty that an agreement will be reached.

A further announcement will be made in due course.
