Woolworths Insurance launches Car and Travel products
Monday, 6 August 2012: Woolworths Insurance will today
launch Car and Travel Insurance products that are designed to
meet customers' needs with simple and better value
cover.
Woolworths Car Insurance and Woolworths Travel Insurance add
to the Life and Pet Insurance products that were launched in
August 2011. Woolworths will also launch Home and Contents
Insurance in the coming months.
Woolworths Head of Insurance, George Hughes said: "As a major
retailer, customers trust us to deliver simple, reliable, no
fuss products and insurance is no different. Our proposition
is to make insurance easy, accessible and affordable for our
customers.
"Our new Car and Travel Insurance products will allow us to
continue in the role of market challenger and bring to our
customers great value products under a trusted brand. We have
focused on:
• Innovation and value - Car Insurance
customers will be rewarded irrespective of how frequently
they drive: low kilometre drivers will save on premiums with
our 'Drive Less Pay Less' proposition and high kilometre
drivers will save on fuel. Woolworths Travel Insurance has
focused on ensuring a speedy and simple customer experience
whilst delivering exceptional value for our core family
segment with a "kids go free" offer.
• Simplicity - An easy to understand
policy using everyday language and a clear and concise three
step process to take out a policy that applies online and
through the call centre.
• Flexibility - Customers have the ability
to tailor their cover based on their needs and financial
situation.
• Transparent - Customers will be able to
access easy to understand information on what they are
covered for and what they are not covered for.
• Accessible - Cover for a broad spectrum
of Australians, whatever their needs.
"There are plenty of cheap insurance products out there but
cheaper is not necessarily better when it comes to insurance
and all too often customers only find that out when it is too
late. Our policies have our customers' needs in mind and we
are confident we can offer better value on comparable cover,"

Woolworths Car Insurance
Woolworths Car Insurance offers three types of cover:
Comprehensive, Third Party Property Damage and Make your Own
that allows customers to tailor their car insurance for their
needs and budget. The core comprehensive product includes
new-for-old replacement within the first 12 months, emergency
travel and accommodation costs and cover for personal
property and valuables damaged in an accident. There are
optional extras such as an extension of new-for-old
replacement by an additional year and Roadside Assistance.
Everyday Rewards members who take out Woolworths Car
Insurance will have the opportunity to turbo-charge their
fuel discounts and save an extra 4 cents a litre on fuel for
12 months. Furthermore, customers who purchase online will
receive additional savings.
Woolworths Travel Insurance
Woolworths Travel Insurance offers Basic and Comprehensive
cover as well as an annual multi-trip policy for frequent
travellers. Comprehensive Travel Insurance provides unlimited
cover for overseas medical and hospital expenses for our
customers as well as cover for cancellation and amendment
fees, any lost or damaged luggage and personal belongings,
theft of cash and loss of travel documents and credit cards.
Children and dependants are covered for free in both Basic
and Comprehensive policies.
