Monday 25 July 2016: Woolworths Limited today announced that while it will explore options to sell EziBuy it will be business as usual for customers.

'EziBuy stores in New Zealand and its online and call centre operations will continue to enable customers to shop the latest in fashion and homewares with confidence in New Zealand and Australia,' Woolworths CEO, Brad Banducci, said today.

EziBuy is one of the largest multi-channel retailer in Australasia.

'Our decision has no impact on the current operation or trading of the business. We are committed to ensuring we do the right thing by our customers, team members and suppliers throughout the sale process.'

Woolworths bought EziBuy three years ago with the ambition to pair it with its Australian discount department store chain, BIG W.

'The synergies expected at the time Woolworths bought EziBuy were not realised and performance has been below our expectations. As a result, we have separated BIG W and EziBuy and will look at options to sell EziBuy. The team have been working hard on a plan to transform EziBuy and that work continues,' Mr Banducci said.
