Frankfurt, 12 October 2017 - Worldline [Euronext: WLN], the European market leader in payment and transaction services, has installed its YOMANI payment terminals in all German stores of international fashion house C&A. As of the end of August, all of C&A's German stores are now equipped with around 2,200 new terminals. The hardware's future-proof design, long warranty period and availability were deciding factors for C&A. In stores, the new hardware means faster transaction handling, ensured security and improved customer service thanks to card and contactless payments.

In the future, Worldline's YOMANI payment terminals will ensure smooth transaction processing in C&A's German stores, in which c. 2,200 terminals have been in use since late August.

For large retailers with rapid turnover at multiple points-of-sales, card payment is essential in order to continue to provide competitive levels of security, speed and customer experience. That is why C&A opted to modernise its existing terminal infrastructure in Germany with modern, PCI-4-certified hardware.

Worldline's network of companies ensured the trouble-free replacement of the infrastructure within three months with terminal hardware installed directly by Worldline, project management performed by PaySquare (a Worldline subsidiary) and project execution by BD-POS GmbH. C&A enjoys a long-standing relationship with transaction services provider PaySquare in the sphere of card transactions, entrusting it in 2002 with the processing of its network operations and, in 2009, with its payment acquisition business.

YOMANI is countertop terminal specifically designed to be used at points-of-sales (POS). The robust, solid design of the reading device makes it fail-proof. USB, Ethernet and serial networking are built-in and other communication interfaces are also available. Three clearly distinguishable card-readers with dedicated lighting simplify the use for the customer. In 2010, the YOMANI terminal won the Red Dot Design Award for its streamlined and ergonomic design.

As Michael Pip, Head of Merchant Services CE at Worldline explains: 'At a time when the volume of online shopping is increasing very rapidly, secured, glitch-free transactions and an improved customer experience are essential for 'offline purchases', in order to remain competitive. The latest functions such as contactless payment are indispensable. We are extremely pleased to be able to assist C&A in this area with our payment terminals'.

PaySquare CE, a Worldline subsidiary, is the Central European partner for merchant services. As part of Worldline's Merchant Services Global Business Line, PaySquare offers comprehensive payment services with maximum geographical coverage.
