COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2015) - Worthington Energy Innovations (
The Michigan U.S. Green Building Council Battle of the Buildings program is an awards and recognition program to honor commercial building owners and operators for energy use reduction.
Since Kiser founded Professional Supply, Inc., now known as Worthington Energy Innovations, 30 years ago, he has been on a mission to transform the way people think about and consume energy. His company has developed innovative technology and energy system designs and strategies that have resulted in dramatically reduced energy use, costs and carbon footprint for major U.S. corporations in several industries, including Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Goodyear and Ocean Spray.
"Energy efficiency is an attitude," Kiser said. "Congratulations to these Michigan businesses for having the right attitude about energy use. They have recognized how valuable it is to pursue energy efficiency strategies for their business and the environment."
The summit also welcomes Valerie Brader, Senior Strategy Officer to Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and recently appointed leader of the new Michigan Agency for Energy, as the closing keynote speaker.
The Battle of the Buildings program encourages energy-efficient practices in buildings across the region and instills a spirit of friendly competition among building owners and operators. The buildings that demonstrate the greatest percentage-based reduction in EUI (energy use intensity) during the competition will be recognized as a winner at the 2015 energy summit.
"On behalf of the state of Michigan, I would like to thank the Michigan Battle of the Buildings program for taking steps to reduce energy waste in our state," said Governor Snyder. "Michigan's reinvention is dependent on the hard work and dedication of our citizens to build a better and brighter future. By working together, we can make Michigan's energy resources more adaptable, reliable and affordable while preserving our environment for upcoming generations."
