Mary Conway Joins as Managing Director of U.S. Healthcare Media

New Additions Strengthen Agency's Washington, D.C. Presence and Expertise in Content Marketing, Social and Digital Media

NEW YORK
- Cohn & Wolfe Group today announced the addition of three senior executives to its growing U.S. healthcare practice. Joining the agency are Mary Conway, in a newly created role as Managing Director of Healthcare Media, U.S.; Alice Sofield as SVP, Healthcare Media, U.S.; and Jenn Gordon as VP, Healthcare Media, U.S. Conway and Gordon will be based in New York, while Sofield will be based in Washington, D.C., where she will also lead FDA-related activities.

An industry powerhouse and two-time winner of PRWeek's prestigious 'Healthcare Campaign of the Year' honor, Conway will be responsible for leading Cohn & Wolfe's U.S. Healthcare Media team and will also play an integral role in the growth of the healthcare practice. Conway, previously EVP, Director of Healthcare Media at Ruder Finn, brings more than 25 years of experience across communications strategy, media relations, digital, social media and content marketing for leading prescription and OTC brands. In 1995, she became a founding member of healthcare PR agency Chandler Chicco, and spent a majority of her career growing the firm and its sister agencies.

Conway reports to Jim Joseph, Chief Integrated Marketing Officer and President of the Americas, Cohn & Wolfe. She will partner with the Healthcare Leadership team and Jillian Janaczek, Managing Director, U.S. Healthcare, Cohn & Wolfe, to help drive the strategic direction of the practice.

'Under the outstanding leadership of Jillian and the U.S. Healthcare Leadership team, the healthcare practice has thrived by leveraging our deep heritage and connections in the healthcare media space, and amplifying our brand communications via social and digital media, content marketing and influencer targeting,' says Donna Imperato, CEO, Cohn & Wolfe Group. 'Mary's deep expertise in healthcare strategy and digital communications is an important addition to our team and will make her an invaluable partner to our clients by delivering engaging, innovative campaigns that make an impact.'

The additions of Sofield and Gordon will further deepen the expertise of the agency's healthcare media team.

Sofield will leverage her government communications expertise and experience working with the FDA and the National Institute of Health to advance the agency's offering in Washington, D.C., where she has been based for over 20 years. Sofield also brings over 25 years of media relations experience and strong relationships with healthcare and consumer reporters and influencers across the U.S., as well as an extensive knowledge of healthcare issues spanning oncology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, mental health and autoimmune disease. She was most recently Senior Vice President at Ruder Finn and, prior to that, spent 18 years at Chandler Chicco Companies, working with Conway.

A former CNN producer in Atlanta and New York, Gordon applies her background in journalism to innovative, compelling storytelling for brands via a mix of media relations and original content development. She is an accomplished media trainer to both patients and physicians, and was the media team leader behind PRWeek's 2014 Healthcare Campaign of the Year for Mylan Specialty's 'Get Schooled in Anaphylaxis' campaign. Gordon also joins from Ruder Finn where she was Vice President and Media Specialist.
