On October 31, 2014, WSP acquired Parsons Brinckerhoff. WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff now has 34,500 employees working in 500 offices in 40 countries around the world. In many locations, our teams have moved into shared offices and are working on joint projects and bids. The acquisition has reinforced our expertise and was extremely well received by our clients.

Paul Dollin, COO of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff states: 'Integration takes many forms from the emotional journey we take as people through to office co-location and single systems and processes. We have made great progress over the last year but many aspects of integration will continue over the coming months and years. We now need to move on from using language that reflects our legacy companies or integration as an activity and focus on the benefits we can bring to our clients and people from our increased depth of quality, diversity and global reach. Translating these benefits into competitive advantage will be the key to our long term success and will be measured through client satisfaction, organic growth and feedback from our people.'

A great example of synergy and collaboration is the California High-speed Rail project. The mandate originated from Parsons Brinckerhoff in the U.S., which was providing program management, integration and delivery, as well as operations and maintenance planning. The US WSP team is serving as engineer-of-record for the transit terminal of the line's northern terminus, the Transbay Transit Center, as well as engineer for the Transbay Tower, a state-of-the-art office high-rise adjacent to the centre.

'The fact that we are now on the way to reaching the objectives of our 2015-2018 strategic plan demonstrates how successful the integration has been. As a united firm, we are pursuing our growth, both organically and through recent acquisitions such as that of MMM Group, Levelton and SPL in Canada, Faveo in the Nordic countries and Halvorson and Partners in the U.S.,' concludes Alexandre L'Heureux, CFO of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.
