CHICAGO, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Grainger (NYSE: GWW) today reported sales results for the month of October 2014. Sales increased 6 percent versus October 2013. Results for the month included a 1 percentage point contribution from acquisitions, net of dispositions, and a 2 percentage points decline from unfavorable foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic sales increased 7 percent driven by 6 percentage points of volume growth and a 1 percentage point contribution from sales of Ebola-related safety products. The month of October 2014 had 23 selling days, the same as October 2013. The 2014 fourth quarter will have 64 selling days, the same as the 2013 fourth quarter.
