Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL) will hold its 2016 annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, May 18 in Eau Claire, Wis., at The Florian Gardens conference center.

“We look forward to showcasing our operations in Eau Claire, which has served as our Wisconsin headquarters for decades,” said Ben Fowke, Xcel Energy chairman, president and CEO. “Over the last five years, we have invested $1 billion to upgrade our infrastructure that serves Wisconsin to enhance our service and operations. We plan to invest another $1.32 billion over the next five years to strengthen the energy grid and add more renewable energy to our system.”

Xcel Energy in recent years has alternated the site of its annual meeting, during which company officials review the previous year’s accomplishments, conduct a business meeting and respond to shareholder questions. Previous meetings have been held in major cities in Xcel Energy’s eight-state service territory, including Minneapolis; Denver; Amarillo, Texas; Fargo, N.D.; and Sioux Falls, S.D.

“Rotating the location of our annual meeting is a great way for us to spend time with different shareholders each year and to connect with the employees and communities that are a vital part of our success,” added Fowke.

Xcel Energy provides electricity and natural gas service to 260,000 customers in 223 communities across western and northwestern Wisconsin and part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The company employs more than 1,200 employees and contractors across the region.

Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL) provides the energy that powers millions of homes and businesses across eight Western and Midwestern states.
