The Vivado Design Suite was chosen for the 2013 ACE Award due to its ability to accelerate designer productivity of All Programmable FPGA and SoC design. Featuring a system- and IP-centric integrated design environment built on industry standards and shared scalable model, the Vivado Design Suite provides high-level synthesis of C/C++ and System C, intelligent IP integration, RTL simulation and a state of the industry analytic implementation engine that is 4x faster than competitive solutions.

"We are grateful to receive such high praise honoring the dedication of our employees who spent over four years, building from the ground up, this next-generation design environment, the Vivado Design Suite," said Tom Feist, senior director of design methodology marketing at Xilinx. "Being selected by UBM as an ACE award winner is a testament to Xilinx's dedication to provide solutions that are a generation ahead in productivity for our customers, while maintaining the level of excellence and quality Xilinx is known for."

The Ultimate Products of the Year Award - awarded to the most significant product introduced in the last 12 months in 11 categories - was determined by a large-scale peer review. Award recipients in each category were chosen by expert editors from both EE Times and EDN with accompanying editorial reviews.

EE Times and EDN ACE Awards were presented in 22 categories and were judged by a blue-ribbon panel of industry experts, comprised of the leading voices of academia and the industry.

"Our contest showcases the unique best of breed products that have been brought to the market this year," said Patrick Mannion, Brand Director, EDN. "The 2013 winners represent the execution of forward-thinking technologies and creativity that captures the imagination of consumers, illustrating the influence that electronics and embedded design professionals have on today's culture."
