XIRING (Paris:ALXIR), a security solutions provider for electronic
transactions, announces that the French government purchases agency
(UGAP) placed an order on October 4, 2011, for 87,000 Leo by XIRING
secure eID smartcard readers within the framework of the contract
announced at the beginning of the year.
This order falls under the program implemented for securing the IT
systems of the French administrative offices, with the use of a
professional ID smartcard, called an "agent card." Thanks to the Leo by
XIRING secure eID card reader, government employees will be
authenticated to have secure access to workstations and confidential
information, and be able to secure paperless administrative transactions
with digital signature.
The Leo by XIRING solution is a secure desktop smartcard reader that
connects to the workstation through USB, with a keyboard and a LCD
display, and includes software that complies with the technical and
security requirements set by the ANTS (French National Agency for
Secure Identity Documents).
