Leading New York Show Expands to West Coast to Bring Together Top Wedding Dress Designers and Bridal Boutiques and Unveil New Collections

LOS ANGELES (August 22, 2014) - The Knot, the nation's leading wedding resource, will bring top bridal designers and salon buyers together this weekend for the first-ever Los Angeles-based bridal fashion trade show, Couture LA. This trade-only event will run from Sunday, August 24, to Monday, August 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. P.T. at the famed Siren Studios on Sunset Boulevard.

"For 18 years and 36 seasons, Couture has helped establish some of the most iconic names in the wedding business at our New York-based show. We are thrilled to be able to answer the needs of our West Coast industry partners by launching a high-quality bridal fashion event in Los Angeles. This is consistent with our mission to connect retailers, designers and brides in innovative ways," said Jennifer Davidson, global fashion director of The Knot. "We are committed to supporting the vibrancy of the wedding fashion industry. Couture LA helps launch new designers, helps stores expand their collections and, ultimately, helps to connect brides with gowns that fit their unique wedding style."

Launches at Couture LA include reality TV star Desiree Hartsock's collection for Maggie Sottero and Allure Bridals's Madison James collection. Couture LA will feature designers Pronovias, Rosa Clara, Kenneth Winston, Essense of Australia, Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner, Allure Bridals, Jasmine Bridals, Maggie Sottero, Paloma Blanca, Sincerity Bridal/Justin Alexander, Mon Cheri and Sottero & Midgley, among others. The showings will be held in a hip exhibit space-a 30,000-square-foot Hollywood soundstage. Designers, buyers, stylists, media and industry leaders will view collections, make selections and kick off the fall wedding fashion buying season.

Couture LA and Couture New York are valuable pieces of The Knot and its overall wedding fashion strategy, which includes leading wedding fashion mobile app, Wedding LookBook by The Knot; fashion-driven wedding magazine, The Knot; and the world's largest collection of wedding dresses online, TheKnot.com/fashion.
