LYON, FRANCE - 27 November 2017 -XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of logistics and transport solutions, has organized a toy drive in the Hauts-de-France region in partnership with Emmaüs, a French solidarity movement. XPO donated its trucking and pallet distribution services at the Roye site (Somme department) to Emmaüs, a France-based organization that combats poverty and homelessness worldwide.

Under XPO's '1 toy = 1 successful Christmas for 1 child' initiative, a team of volunteers collected the toys this month and delivered them to Emmaüs in the city of Camon. The company is considering extending its involvement across its distribution network in France next year.

'The holiday season should be a happy time for everyone. Our team was eager to help,' said Luis Angel Gomez, managing director-transport, XPO Logistics Europe. 'We're proud to support Emmaüs France and make a positive impact.'

Pascal Orillard, a volunteer at Emmaüs France in the Somme department, said, 'Emmaüs succeeds in its mission solely through donations and without state subsidies. Some of the toys collected by XPO will be donated to disadvantaged children in France or Africa; others will be sold to pay for items that further the well-being of homeless people, such as food, sleeping bags and blankets.'
