Yahoo! Inc. : Yahoo Patent Filings Target Ads In E-Books -BBC

A Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) patent application, filed in late 2010 and published last week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, details procedures for including advertisements in electronic books, the BBC reported Monday.
According to the report, the company filed two patent applications for e-book advertising technology, potentially including hyperlinks, video or boxes saying "brought to you by Company A."
Yahoo noted that a customer's agreement to see more ads could result in discounted or potentially free e-books, the report said.
