The family that plays together…stays together. So say the experts, therefore America’s favorite fried chicken chain is feeding the trend with the introduction of the KFC Game Night Bucket. The family meal includes 12 of KFC’s famous Extra Crispy™ Tenders, four dipping sauces, four biscuits, two large side items and a free I SPY game, right on the bucket. (For larger families, the Game Night Bucket is also available with 20 Extra Crispy Tenders.)

In addition to bringing the family together around a delicious bucket of chicken, there may be other benefits to playing games with your family. Sara Meghan Walter, Ph.D., assistant professor of counselor education at Stetson University, says that playing games helps build self-confidence, promotes essential skills, encourages academic development, and offers lasting memories. “Children and adults feel happier and healthier when they feel like they’re connected to a group,” Walter says. “When you’re playing a game that requires input from everybody, it increases family cohesion.” *

“Colonel Sanders started serving home-cooked meals to travelers at his family’s dining room table in his service station in 1930, and he quickly developed a reputation for ‘Sunday dinner served seven days a week,’” said Kevin Hochman, Chief Marketing Officer for KFC U.S. “At KFC, we’ve always prided ourselves on bringing families together over dinner, and we think the Colonel would be proud of the way the Game Night Bucket does that in a fun way.”

The beloved I SPY franchise has been engaging, educating and entertaining children and families around the world since the first I SPY book was published in 1991. KFC’s Game Night Bucket includes a free I SPY game and bonus I SPY posters to allow families to enjoy time together over dinner.

KFC Cook Keeps Colonel’s Tradition Alive in New Commercial

When KFC was searching for the star of their newest #HowDoYouKFC commercial, they didn’t have to look any farther than the kitchen. The brand’s newest TV ad for its Dip’ems Combo featuring Extra Crispy Tenders stars two real KFC cooks – Maurice Wilson of Kissimmee, Fla., and James Wilson from Chicago, Ill.

The commercial features Maurice Wilson commenting that he feels bad “for people who have never tasted the amazing flavor of KFC’s freshly prepared tenders.” As he hand breads Extra Crispy Tenders, he proudly wraps up the commercial by saying, “I make chicken for people that know chicken. For those that can’t tell the difference, I cannot help you.”

KFC’s Dip’ems Combo includes three Extra Crispy Tenders, two sauces, an individual side item, a biscuit and a medium drink for only $5 plus tax. (Pricing and participation may vary by location.)
