This year's Triglav Run will take place on the second Saturday in September at Brdo pri Kranju. The charitable run is already a well-established event for sports lovers of all generations. Part of the day's proceedings, which are aimed at encouraging individuals, colleagues and families to enjoy healthy leisure time, will also be attended by professional athletes in their role as Triglav Run ambassadors. The number of runners permitted to take part in the grounds of the Brdo estate is limited, so registration is only possible until 1 September, or until all the places are filled.

On Saturday 9 September the Triglav Run, which gives runners exclusive access to the Brdo pri Kranju estate for one day only, will once again be the talk of the amateur running world. This unique event will feature five runs over six different distances: a half-marathon, a 10 km run, a 3.4 km family run, a 3 x 3.4 km business relay and the 'Kuža Pazi' children's run over 350 and 700 metres. It is an event that enables sports lovers to enjoy healthy and fun-filled leisure time, and will once again have a marked charitable element. Zavarovalnica Triglav will hand over funds for better neonatal care to the Trbovlje and Brežice maternity hospitals and the Ultrasound Society.

Top athletes promoting exercise in natural surroundings

Well-known Slovenian sportsmen and women are also an integral part of this unique running event at Brdo pri Kranju, and they act as event ambassadors. 'I support the Triglav Run mostly because it is one of the few events that takes place in the countryside,' explains ski-jumper Peter Prevc. 'Being an ambassador means that I can set an example and encourage others to join in,' he adds.

Peter will be joined at the event by brother Cene, cross-country skier Vesna Fabjan, snow-boarders Rok Marguč and Žan Košir, professional skater Timotej Lampe Ignjić, biathletes Teja Gregorin and Klemen Bauer, triathlete Miro Kregar, ultramarathon runner Nataša Robnik and paralympic skier Anja Drev. Popular musician Samuel Lucas, who will be joined on stage by Filip and Blaž from F&B acrobatics, will make sure the atmosphere is as fun-filled and relaxed as possible. The youngest children will be well catered for, with an organised crèche and a wide variety of creative activities.

Friday is the last day for registration

The number of runners permitted to take part in the grounds of the Brdo pri Kranju estate is limited, so registration is only possible until Friday 1 September, or until all the places are filled. Athletes of all ages may register at Triglavtek.si.

The organisers point out that a large number of runners are expected at the event. The collection of runner numbers will therefore start on the day before the event: between 4 and 7 pm on Friday 8 September in the event venue at Brdo pri Kranju.
